About the Funds

The Plumbers Local Union No. 1 Trust Funds is the umbrella organization responsible for administering the benefits provided to most members of Plumbers Local Union No. 1 through five separate funds: the Plumbers Local Union No. 1 Welfare Fund, Plumbers Local Union No. 1 401(k) Savings Plan, Plumbers Local Union No. 1 Vacation and Holiday Fund, Plumbers Local Union No. 1 Additional Security Benefit Fund, and The Plumbers Local Union No. 1 Trade Education Fund. A joint Board of Trustees consisting of an equal number of union and employer Trustees governs these Funds. Participants plus their eligible family members are covered by these benefits.

The Fund Office is located at 158-29 George Meany Boulevard in Howard Beach, Queens with a Training Facility Long Island City/Sunnyside, Queens. At 158-29 George Meany Boulevard, the Fund Office offers a walk-in center in the lobby to answer member questions about benefits.

For information about benefits, members should call the Fund Office at 718-835-2700. For other contact information, consult the Summary Plan Description for each Fund.

ASB Fund 2010 Benefit Payment Information
[1/13/2010] - For 2010 Benefits will continue to be paid by the Fund on a monthly basis, application for Benefit Forms are due in the Fund Office no later than the Fourth Tuesday of each calendar month for the subsequent month's Benefit payment. See attached letter for additional information. link

Get Healthy and Save $$$ in 2010
[12/30/2009] - Did you know? Under your Welfare Fund benefits, you can get a prescription filled for as little as $2 when you use a generic medication. link

Supplemental Vacation Benefit Limits
[12/1/2009] - Effective October 1, 2009 Supplemental Vacation Benefit limits were increased from $3,000 to $6,000.  You may also apply for Benefits four times a year, twice in the period from the third Tuesday in December through the first Tuesday in May and twice in the period from the third Tuesday in July through the first Tuesday in October. [9/28/2009] - Come join us at the 10th Annual Employee Benefit Fair on Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at the Plumbers Local Union No. 1 Training Center from 3:30 pm to 6:30 pm. link

New Supplemental Vacation Benefit Form W4 Option
[7/30/2009] - The Trustees of the Vacation and Holiday Fund have approved changes to the Plan's income tax withholding for Supplemental Vacation Benefits. Specifically, Supplemental Vacation Benefits may be paid under the Form W-4 option similar to the Semi-Annual Automatic payments as described in the attached SMM#1. link

Supplemental Vacation Benefit Limits
[4/24/2009] - Effective April 1, 2009 Supplemental Vacation Benefit limits were increased from $1,500 to $3,000.  You may also apply for Benefits four times a year effective May 1, 2009, twice in the period from January 1st through the first Tuesday in May and twice in the period from August 1st through the first Tuesday in October. link
