The Business Manager 

of Plumbers and Gasfitters Local Union No. 1 

 of New York City is  George W. Reilly.

_______________________________________

  George was initiated into membership of Plumbers Local No. l in September of
l973.  He served his apprenticeship and was selected to receive the
"Outstanding Apprentice" award upon his graduation.

After working on numerous construction jobs in New York City as a journeyman and
then foreman, his career took a different path.  During the 12 year period from
1982 to 1994, George was a full time Apprentice/Journeyman instructor in the
same program that he had graduated from only a few short years earlier.  He
took courses at Purdue University and Washtenaw College earning many awards and
degrees in teaching our craft, including the United Association's "Certified
Instructor of Journeymen and Apprentices in the Plumbing and Pipefitting Industry."

Then in 1994, George again answered the call to serve the membership, this
time in a different way. He put his teaching  license on a "shelf", and filled a
temporary vacancy in the office of Financial Secretary-Treasurer.  He was
re-elected to that office up until his election in 2003 to the position of Business Manager.

Although demanding and challenging,
George enjoys representing the hard working members of Plumbers Local No. 1. 
There are many facets to this representation including serving as a Trustee on our
various benefit funds and working in the political arena for our members.
