Building Trades Journeyman Training
As time goes on, some things stay the same in our trade,
but other things change. As technology, equipment and codes
continue to change, you need to keep up with the safest and
most up-to-date procedures on the job. The Plumbers Local 1
Training Center has a qualified staff of journeymen
instructors to help you get the job done effectively and
efficiently. For Building Trades journeymen who want to keep
up to date on the latest materials, methods, products and
codes, the Plumbers Local 1 Training Center offers a variety
of advanced journeymen training courses. To accommodate the
members’ work schedule, classes are offered in the evening
at our state-of-the-art facility in Queens.
Under the direction of NYC Department of Education and U.A.
certified instructors, the advanced training programs
address subjects such as OSHA Safety, welding, code and
theory, drafting & plan reading, field coordination,
computer aided drafting(CAD), medical gas systems, N.Y.
State certified backflow prevention, and residential fire
suppression systems. As the Plumbing Industry continues to
change, the Plumbers Local 1 Training Center will continue
to respond with additional courses to address future demands
of the industry. Our journeymen training courses create
highly professional plumbers, who can deliver the expertise
and productivity that our industry demands. This is one of
the most important goals of the Plumbers Local 1 Trade
Education Fund.
